Justice Matters, USAID Supports New T.V. Program on Albania's Judicial System
TIRANA, December 5, 2008 This Saturday, December 6 at 21:00, News 24 will air a new episode of Justice Matters, a five-part series on Albania’s justice sector, hosted by Gerti Shella. The program is supported by USAID through its Rule of Law program. The show will air again on Monday, December 8 at 22:00.
Saturday’s program will focus on the length of court proceedings and enforcement of court decisions. Previous show topics included: “Justice Perception,” “Court Infrastructure,” and “Justice Delays.”
Justice Matters is the first TV show in Albania to be totally dedicated to the judicial system,” explains the show’s host, Shella. “We hope the show will give the Albanian public a better understanding of the Albanian legal systems and thus help improve the quality, transparency, and accountability of courts.”
Guests on the show include judges, prosecutors, and lawyers, representatives from government agencies, law professors and law students and representatives of other members of the Albanian legal system.
The 5th and final episode of the show is scheduled to air on Saturday, December 13 at 21:00 and on Monday, December 15 at 22:00.
