USAID Opens Four New Employment Positions
TIRANA, May 15, 2009 Today, the U.S. Agency for International Development published four job vacancy announcements for positions in the Program, Health, and Management Offices. USAID has been operating in Albania since 1992. This is the largest staffing increase in one year since opening its offices in Albania. USAID/Albania currently employs 18 full-time Albanian staff.
“USAID is excited to bring new people into the agency,” said Acting Mission Director John Brannaman. “We know there are a lot of talented and experienced Albanians that will contribute positively to our development programs and future growth.”
The U.S. Government, through USAID, has delivered more than $438 million in assistance to support Albanian democracy, prosperity, and security.
Directed by Roberta Mahoney, USAID/Albania implements programs to promote economic growth and poverty reduction, strengthen democratic institutions and civil society, improve the legal system and reduce corruption, increase the efficiency of the primary health care system, and target special initiatives including energy and trafficking in persons.
